got the old clutch tore out, torqued the flywheel in, put the disk on the allingment tool in, torqued the pressure plate, pulled out the allingment tool, greased the input shaft, pushed the transmission back on, didnt want to alling right, wiggled it for a while before it went in, put the crossmeber in, driveshafts,

went to hit the clutch to see how it felt. . and it didnt move, pressed harder, and broke the plastic rod that goes from the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder.

ok, what might i have bound up so it wont move?

does this rod come speeratly, or do I hafta buy a new master cylinder?

ok, i am an IDIOT. the slave cylinder plunger wasnt in the fork. So it couldnt move something it wasnt stuck on, and since the plunger has a spring and will extend its self when it has any slack, it was fully extended when I pressed on the clutch. Since it was fully extended it didnt go anywhere. So I pushed harder and broke the rod going into the master cylinder. I'm goin to thew junkyard tomorrow to look for another, since autozone wants $150 and advanced auto wants $80. I bet a junkyard will let me out with less than $50.

all in all, i am the sharpest tool in the shed next to the round end on a ball pein hammer.

I have been exactly where you are, but after enough clutches (other vehicles) I didn't break anything.

I made up a plate with a long set screw to go in place of the hydraulic cylinder to hold everything in place while I put the transmission back in place. Once the transmission is bolted up I put the actuator back. Makes life easier.

My Haynes manual says the entire assembly from pedal lever rod to slave cylinder is one sealed unit, including the resevoir and clutch switch. I put in a 13" Con OFE this last weekend :D and from the looks of it, that manual may be right. No bleed screws or any thing. After disconnecting the pedal rod and switch wire the whole master cylinder unscrews 45 deg from the firewall sheet metal and comes right out. Just grab it from the engine side and give it a twist. Loosen the resevoir bolts first. Snake the whole assembly out and install new. Good luck!

IT works. Now my tires are smoking. :D :D

The clutch master cylinder comes by its self. You just drive a pin out of the old one ans the line comes off. And play with the slave to prime it. Move the slave in and out till it stops pushing bubles.
