Does your rpm "flare" inbetween shifts on 6spd?

15,240 miles and broke down

The clutch master cylinder push rod is grinding against the position switch and is grabby at full pedal depression. I have tried White grease and Graphite but it only lasts for 1 day. Do any of you guys have a lubrication that would fix this?

My '98 5spd did that for over 80k miles before I finally pulled the master cylinder out to look at it. The rod was bent. I coughed up $267 green stamps for a new straight one that included the master cylinder, slave cylinder, hose and fluid. After I installed it I was happy that it was all one piece already charged and ready to go. It sure was nice and smooth operating. Quiet too!

It was probably a warrantable item but I waited a bit too long.

One response?

Come on guys my 5***** dealer told me this was normal! There must be somebody who has this problem.

Maybe I'll just use some KY jelly!

I do not have the problem, I think your 5****** dealer is wrong. I think that you have an abnormal one. Go back and go out with the service rep. and try out a few new trucks on the lot. I am willing to bet they do not have the same problem. Or go to another dealer.

sorry

My clutch feel was fine until we went to Las Vegas during the hottest week of the year. During our first day there (115 degrees according to the news) the clutch peddle action became very grabby and has remained that way to this day. I attributed the problem to the heat melting whatever lubricant on whatever pivoting or wear point. That's my hypothesis anyway. This is on my long list of things to repair if my lemon law buyout goes wrong.

I see that you have the adjustable peddles... . has anyone had this with stationary peddles?
