Pcm bad? P0606

Hey Guys,
2006 Dodge 2500 w/ G56 trans.
Isn’t there supposed to be a rubber seal in the clutch master cylinder? I found this rubber “cross or plus sign” looking seal about 1.5” long that fits perfectly in the cap. It was laying in a place it wasn’t suppose to be. I’ve tried to upload a picture of it, but no joy. Perhaps someone in the know or with a G56 can confirm. I can’t find any pictures in my ALLDATA subscription or on line.
Thanks,
Scott.

That rubber accordion boot seal allows fluid movement but separates the fluid from air. Air has moisture brake fluid absorbs that and can react with internal components.

Same concept as brake master cyl cap.

Are you having a clutch problem ?

Nope, no problems. Just noticed this rubber thing and thought it might (must) be what belongs in the cylinder cup. Here is a picture of the rubber thing. Thanks!

Thanks GCroyle,
I was able to find a picture that confirm this is does in fact belong in the cup for the clutch master cylinder. Not sure how long it has been out of it’s intended location and I did not experience any clutch performance issues. I’ll keep an eye on things though.
Scott.
