clutch pedal noise

took it all a part, this squeeking clutch pedal is driving me nuts. it is not the pedal for sure. there are two pivot points, one for the pedal and one for the rod the pushes the cylinder. both had plenty of lube and without the rod connected the pedal makes no noise and moves smooth. if you push the rod in by hand , it makes the noise. so we can rule the pedal out.

My '01 had a squeak at the ball joint at the end of the rod. Never could get it to quit for good. Every once in a while I'd squirt in some silicon lube (the pure stuff, not the stuff with mineral oil that will eat the clutch seals) and it would be okay for a while. Another source of noise is the clutch interlock switch that is attached to the rod. It makes kind of a "crunching spring" noise, not a squeak.
