I found the cure for my truck ...
I only had the squeak/squeal at warmer temps - above 60 degrees or so in cab. Couple weeks ago, I had enough.
Looked in Service Manual for diagram of clutch and brake pedal linkage. Though it involved lots of sweat on my part, was not too difficult to do but was a real pain to get to. Highly recommend this procedure. For my 2001, in section 6 page 18 for clutch pedal removal and installation.
Removed knee bolster plate under steering column - to see back in there. Removed connections to clutch and brake pedal actuators. Now pedals swing freely. Your brake lights will come on and stay on until you reassemble to this point, so don't plan on leaving this overnight. At each end of the pivot shaft there is a retaining clip. I started on the go pedal side as there is much more room to work. Removed retaining clip. Slide pivot shaft toward driver door to remove retaining clip on other end. Then simply slide shaft toward passenger side. Pedals fall out.
There are a bunch of plastic sleeves that the pedals rotate on the pivot shaft around - that is the bushing. I bought some Permatex anti-sieze adhesive lubricant at Autozone. This stuff is apparently designed to stay put - verses getting too hot and running off. Using a number of qtips, I liberally lubed the inside of every plastic bushing.
Couple tips here. Put a rag or something down to cover your carpet. One of the plastic sleeves dropped off on reassembly and got the gray lubricant on my camel carpet. Probably not a problem if carpet is gray

Other issue on reassembly was that somewhere there was a spring shim that I did not detect exactly where it came from. I did not insert it on reassembly. I suspect it was between the clutch and brake pedals, but don't know for sure. If anyone does this, please look carefully before yanking pivot shaft out. It is very thin. To compensate, I lubed the edges of the bushings on both sides of clutch pedal.
Now, it is not only quiet, but it is amazing how much reduced effort it takes to operate clutch pedal. That was a couple weeks ago and all is good so far. No problems or issues. Really like easier operation of clutch pedal. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post a question.
The service manual describes reassembly starting with clutch pedal, but that would require inserting the pivot shaft from the drivers door side. The firewall protrudes in the way and would not allow that, unless I am not understanding how the manual says to do it.
