My clutch pedal is acting weird.

I can put the truck in gear and just sit there with the clutch held to the floor and with in a few seconds (15-20) the truck starts roll. If I am not ready to go, traffic, stop sign, light, etc. I must turn the engine off, put the truck in neutral, then re start the engine. And if backing it is a real problem.

The clutch fluid is full and and seems clear, just a slight yellow in color.

Any ideas? Bad mater clutch cylinder or slave or is there something else that controls this or????

TIA

Bob

Clutch

If the slave cylinder is leaking, the fluid is not returning to the master cyl. so you should be low on fluid. If the master cyl. is leaking, it can bypass internally and not lose fluid. bg

Clutch

It pretty much has to be either the master cylinder or the slave. I bought the whole assembly from Dodge ready to install. It was full of fluid and bled. Makes for a simple installation.

Clutch Slave

The problem you describe is exactly what mine was doing when the clutch slave died. It was leaking internally.

A new slave cylinder assembly is pricy from the s--s--oh hell the dealer, and if you do your own work it will take about 1. 5 hours.

The hardest part is fishing the line down through from the top to the bottom.

Good luck.

Slave cylinder is your problem, did the same thing as yours. Enterprise got me one for a 97, they are supposed to be better and installed it for me about 1. 5 hours. not cheep though

Same problem over Christmas. Replace the Master / Slave Cylinder. They are not rebuildable or bleadable. It is probably leaking at the top of the clutch pedal.

Sorry
