Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) smoked a 6.0 choker tonight

This just started happening... ... When I put it in 1st or 2nd, & let the clutch out under normal acceleration, the truck has a major chatter from the drive line. I lost the clutch on my old Blazer ages ago, & that's the feeling I remember right before it happened.

I searched some forums & saw some things on the Rear end being a possibility. Any easy test to tell?

If I give the truck a little go-pedal when letting out the clutch, it will take off smoothly.



Any ideas??

Skillsaw,

You could possibly have some broken springs in the clutch disk. I had a chevy p/u that did that and about half of the shock absorbing springs in the disk were broken... ... .

Just my two cents worth.
