no. A 3800 pound clutch in most cases will cuase you to have to upgrade to the HD hydraulics.

Now for an extra 225 why don't you upgrade to the 13"? Heres the number of it NMU70279-02-5SCE. it comes with new 13" flywheel. this will hold your load A LOT better than the 12. 25.

I would recommend a dual disk. The single disk clutches with high ratings are going to shake the hell out of you. Check out haisley machine .com The street twin has stock pedal pressure, doesn't require a hydraulic upgrade, and will hold 550hp and 850 lb/ft.

I'm not a customer yet my original clutch is still going at 211,000 (knock on wood) but when it goes I'll go with Sout Bend. I heard good things about them.

Hey thanks for the replies...

I've noticed mine slipping when punching it hard and especially at my new HP - not sure what it is... see signature!

I want to have a good clutch for Hot Shot'n with my '40 Gooseneck loaded... not for racing around and tearing it up. I try to keep that at a minimum. :D

I too would call Peter at SBC, but you will need to know what power level you are at. I'm not much of a p-pump guy, but I'll bet he will steer you twards a dual disk, just so it will hold, not for beating on it, but more surface area, better power holding. He will want to know what hp/torque, and load weights. I run a Con O 13" with my approximately 300 hp/750 ft lbs. It engages nicely, and holds the power I'm at. There are two more levels of single disks also.

I would still take a hard look a Haisley Machine. I have driven both South Bends and Haisleys and prefer the Haisley. Doesn't feel like I'm pushing the pedal through the firewall. Talk to Patty.

guess I didnt look at the right stuff... all I saw was competition / no street.

Sorry man, it's called the Mcleod street twin. Call them up and talk to Patty. Very knowlegable with all they do. They buy some outside parts, but set everything up in house.

I like what I've read - They can set up 1000hp Clutches to shift @ 8000rpm... Nnnnnnn-dont think I'll need that - but I will call when they open and get a setup for my application. I slightly dont like that their clutches engage so hard, have "slightly more" pressure, and COULD find the weak link in your drive train. But I think driving smart will take care of a lot of that. I don't want to snap into gear if I have 16,000 lbs on my 7,000 lb gooseneck... Time to beef up the U-Joints, transmission Mounts, and Drive shaft. Lube the Differential with Synthetics and pray Santa brings my an upgraded slave cylinder

Hey thanks for the link. Seems like these guys are consumed with nailing it on multiple applications. I think this is going to be the one. Unless its $1200 for a clutch... Then I'll get one at Wal-Mart or something:D:D

Average price for a dual disk is 1800 bucks no matter what manufacture. You may be looking at a single disk. I paid 1800 for mine. Trucks with the G56 have this goofy flex plate/two peice flywheel junk. Haisley sends a billet one peice that is thick to take up the room of the 2 piece design. The New Venture trucks are 200 bucks cheaper due to the thin flywheel design.

he has a nv 5600 transmission so he will spend 1300 on the dual disk. spent 1800 on mine two days ago because i wanted the larger input shaft on the nv 4500. So far is the clutch is awesome as hell. I have 170 miles on it so far so its still getting broken in.

Maybe I missed it, but USMC, what did you decide to get?

I'm curious as my 95 has now started slipping as well. I have the #5 tst fuel plate and tow about 12,000 so I want something that will be okay but not too crazy hard to release. My truck has 185,000 on the original clutch so I need to start planning for the clutch.

Anyone also have a parts list on what else to get besides pressure plate, flywheel, disc, rear main seal, trans input shaft seal, throw out bearing? Is there anything else that I need. Of course, in this crappy economy, it goes without saying, but I am on a tight budget.

i had a southbend OFE and loved it. upgraded to an FE and a 2lo kit and i was happy. ive always wanted a DD but could never pony up the cash. of my last truck i went with a sachs stock clutch and its held an 11 plate and don m injectors well so far. 215 pump not towing.

I haven't had the chance to look into it. I have been busy - busy - busy last week. My stock clutch just rolled from 199,999 miles to 200,000 while pulling into my driveway two nights ago. It is still in between - pretty cool! I got some photos. :D

I like the McLoed Street Twins but I will have to hold off on that. This complete front end replacement has got me tapped out right now. So I will run the old stocker for now or until it poops out. Once I get my front end completed I am hiring a driver for my Hot Shot business - older & responsible guy who has a good driving record. I should be able to get the cash fairly quick. I want to do it once - and right!;)

Thanks for all of the information YA'LL!:-laf

I have a Valair 3800 lb pressure plate on stock hydraulics. About 20,000 miles and still working well. I have the clutch you are looking at only I had him build it with one side kevlar to smooth things out a little. It is still grabby, but holds perfectly.

Whoops, I just saw on his site that he has listed the same clutch I have. The clutch I have is the NMU70119-06. I have the first one he built with the heavy duty center section that these clutches are built on.
