When your stock clutch starts slipping, does it get progressively worse (less and less holding power) -or will it hold a certain amount of power until I can get a southbend in?

I will be getting new injectors soon and I need to know If I should get everything set up for the new cluth ahead of time - or can I light foot it (if it starts slipping) for 2000 miles or so until I can get the new clutch in.

Thanks in advance.

Unless you really glaze it over badly, the stocker will still retain some holding force. You should be able to light foot it around (as long as you're not towing).

Just because you have enough power to slip the clutch does not mean you have to use the power and make the clutch slip.

I suspect that the clutch will get worse and worse as the disk glazes over and the pressure plate and flywheel get damaged from the heat that slipping causes.

You *can* drive easy and not slip the clutch, but it takes more will power than I have...

I don't know what your mods are, but say for example that you were running DDII's and an EZ. This is enough to slip the stock clutch most of the time, so you can either drive it easy and try to get the clutch to live a while, or just unplug the EZ until you have the time and $$ to fix the clutch.

It's all about your ability to control your throttle foot.

Good Luck,

Mike

Bully Dog III's an mine slips, been slipping for about 6000 miles, too cold up here to r/r the clutch, gonna have to be soon though I'm back to CA in June and I can't tow the trailer with this clutch.

It has gotten a little worse as time passes but as long as I don't give it too much fuel around 16-1900 it works fine.

Comp is also getting tired of sitting on the back seat.
