clutch replacement costs

Iam floored buy what some people on here have been quoted toR/R a clutch. I put a new south bend in myself a month ago. This was the first clutch I ever put in buy meyself in anything I had the truck mabey 3 weeks when I did the clutch. It took me about 12 hours . Now that I have some Idea as to what im doing and now have the tools to do it I could probly do it in 8 hours . A tec at a shop with a lift and trans jack with air tolls can probly do this in 4-5 hrs. One person on here was quoted 3 grand to replace a clutch. lets say the dealer has 1k in parts(thats high) my SB was 1k. Say it takes the tec 8 hours . that puts shop time at 250 an hour after parts. :--) :--)

Most mechanics will do a clutch job for you for 300-400 $ plus parts. I'd never go to a dealer for it.
