Was driving home today and at around an hour from being home during a downhill exhaust brake use, heard a loud bang. Got a buddy to bring a ramptruck and towed it home to the shop. Started investigating everything we took off, turned out to be the center mechanical guts of the fiber disk broke. The arms that put pressure on the center splined housing gave up. Everything else in the clutch system is spotless and perfect... thus the dilemma. Can't find anyone willing to sell just a fiber disk and dont want to put in a whole new clutch for $$ reasons as well as i dont want to change the feel of the clutch i currently have... HAD... Therefore, I am looking for a 12 1/4 fiber disk that someone might have replaced and left sitting on the shelf when they went to a bigger better system such as SB or equivelant. The truck is down obviously but it is needed by this weekend. If anyone has suggestions or even wants to talk me out of such a proposal, please feel free to contact me.

I have the stock clutch out of my '96 laying in a storage unit in Washington. I'll be home over the holidays so if it'll work for ya it's yours for the shipping. I'll hopefully be home by the end of next week so if I ship it you might have it by new years. Let me know if you're interested.

Good Luck,

Mike

Mike,

Thank you for the offer. I called Peter at SouthBend today and figured out exactly what clutch came out of my truck and ordered a quick replacement friction disk that will be here in a couple days. When I wrote the first post I was looking for a used replacement, however, quickly talked myself out of putting old parts back in. I appreciate the aid offered though, everyone's attitude and knowledge here on TDR makes it the best $35/year spent. Thank you all.

Allen
