Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) clutch sensor?

about half the time i go to start my truck i just hear the solenoid click but it wont crank over. then i move the clutch in and out and it will finally find the right spot and start. then sometimes it starts right up with no hesitation. is the clutch sensor bad or just a loose wire somewhere or what?

If you hear the solenoid click, the switch is working fine. Chances are, its your starter contacts going bad. Read up more on it here...

I thought the same thing you did, since I had the same symptoms. The starter contacts were the problem. Batteries seem to be doing a lot better also.
