EGT incorrect?????????

I have a southbend dual disk. My edge chip shows that it slips around 5%. Does this sound right? How is this measured?

i kinda doubt the clutch would be slipping. What lb plate load do you have from southbend. You should fill in your profile, makes it a little easier.

The Edge has no was to tell, It is a calculation using stock clutch and how much more power the Edge applies. Change the display to somthing more exciting.

The Edge DOES know, engine speed vs driveline speed. I would say that it just saw some slip during gear change. unless you see about 20% the clutch is not slipping.

Engine speed vs driveline speed. It only needs to know the relation between the two. If engine rpm goes up and MPH doesn't, something is slipping.

If your clutch is slipping it will get worse in a hurry. Get on it hard in a higher gear, if it is slipping you will be able to tell by that sick feeling in your stomach. It is a Southbend and it is very unlikely that it is slipping.

my 2 cent, ymmv

How does it measure the speed difference?

If you find that out you can know for sure. My guess is that it does not measure driveline RPM so it relies on vehicle speed. Just a hunch that it is your tire size calibration that is throwing the calculation off.

Jim

Edge gets its info from the ECM (PCM), it gets its info from the VSS in the rear dif. There is more to it than just RPM and MPH, engine load, throttle position etc are also used. This is the same techonolgy as traction control and anti lock brakes.
