Hello forum membes, it has been a while since I have posted been traveling a bit. I have a 98. 5 24V, 5sp, I have been looking for a clutch for my truck any recommendations as far as brand. I have a VA box, 275 injectors, boost mod. the factory clutch is just starting to show signs of slipping at 90K. also i was wondering if anyone has tried the new Goodyear MT/R's? I am running 315"s on ultra alloys now so would need that same size . Thanks for your help, Dave

Given your mods I would give South Bend Clutch ( http://www.southbendclutch.com/ )a call and talk to Peter. They have a range of clutches for your truck and can set you up right. There are many satisfied south bend customers here on the site - you could do a search on south bend and get tons of info on them.

Clutch

Dave, there are several good clutches out there but one seems to stand out and thats South Bend Clutch, Give Peter a call and see what he has... ... ..... Pete

I took a very long look at the GoodYears. I have been a Goodyear man for 18 years. I really liket the aggresiveness of the tread yet they looked like they would be fairly quiet. But, something happened when they told me the price. . . I suddenly remembered how fast GoodYear's wear down, and how unevenly they wear on the front of every vehicle I have had them on (Grand Lemans '75; K10 Jimmy '84; Trans Am '79; Maxima '84; Volvo '97; S-10 Blazer '94) all with the same results. Now I finally understand how the PSD guys can complain somuch about their trucks then turn around and buy another. Bizarre:rolleyes: The only thing that broke the chain for me, was a Goodyear store tried to screw me on an airconditioner recharge (long story).

So, I will go with the general consensus of the TDR, which seems to be BF Goodrich A/T. They are a load range D tire that are weight rated to 33 or 34 hundred pounds (I don't recall which). They are said to wear evenly (like my present michellin LTX tires do, that's a first for me ;) )The members seem to be getting alot of miles out of the also. So, there is my big winded opinion.

:D
