Took the truck in to the dealer at 24,300 miles for the clutch TSB and they heard the rattle and agreed to replace it:D I was a little worried I was going to be in for a fight on it because of the mileage.

So, anyone with more than 12,000, don't be afraid to take it in

When I took mine in they just replaced the clutch disk. I don't think they are replacing the pressure plate which I think they should. Mine is not noisy anymore just the transmission in 1 and 2 idleing around are coming off idle is rattling. Dropped it off Monday afternoon for them to figure out whats causing that but I did not have time to pick it up yesterday will get it this afternoon. I think there is some problem in the transmission. It has always been harder to get into 5th since it was new. Most of the time it is smooth but then theres that time it will feel notchy.

Hearing is to good

Well I just talked to them on the phone and they say they can't find anything wrong with the transmission. I'm the first to complain at the noise from the transmission. Until/if Dodge comes out with a TSB on it its normal. But its documented as of now. Also told them to check the rear end oil, they said it was about a pint low. 19000+ on it and I have not checked it yet. Read about all the ones that low on here but I did not take time to check it myself. Bend over and kick me in the a:eek:

If,when you come off idle it sounds like "pre ignition" ping, its the puter not using the precharge in the cyls. When you press the go pedal, the puter stops the precharge and thats when the 03 "sounds" more like it should (a DIESEL). Just a "normal" sound.
