Clutch

I just bought a 93 350, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the pressure plate rebuilt. And maybe where I can buy a new organic clutch disc to replace the stock unit. Thanks.

The way to go is to get a clutch kit. The clutch can be replaced with the same clutch as a NV4500 uses but you need a bolt kit to adapt it.



I have a first gen so I checked into it with SouthBend Clutch a while back. I stocked a couple of adapter kits just in case I got the urge to swap mine. So far the stock (at least the one that was in it when I got it) clutch is holding fine. The truck has injectors and a 12cm exhaust housing at 130k mi.

Try Autozone as they carry the stock OEM 13" w/cast pressure plate. Best cluch is the stock cluch. $499 as I just got one 6 months back.

I promise the best clutch IS NOT the stock clutch. however, the stock clutch may be sufficient for your application.

I second that! Drive a truck with a NEW stock clutch, then drive a truck with a used SBC and you will never go back to stock again. Bill

If you want a great clutch I would go with South Bend. I put Peters Con-O in my '93 and it just gets better and better.
