Does anyone think this is a gooddeal??

Next week I am installing a SouthBend MU 2001 Con. FE clutch.

If anyone is interested.....
For a service fee of $100. #ad

When I remove my "slightly Used" stock clutch I will send it postage paid to SouthBend in your name. Peter at southbend said he will build it into a MU 2001 Con. FE clutch for around $400.

What money is left after I pay postage will go towards:
1. #2 diesel to test out my new clutch.
2. A cold beer / warm pizza to celebrate my new clutch.
3. A warm blanket for sleeping in my truck after my wife opens the Clutch! credit card bill! #ad

You must agree to extend your usable clutch/disc core to a fellow Bomber at the same deal. . This should save you and everyone after you $300 to $400 that want the SouthBend.

I am a little confused. I talked to Peter last week and he said he did not need any cores. I too have a perfectly good core that I removed because it would not hold with the EZ hooked up. The $850 price tag that Peter quoted took me back a moment or two. If I can send him my core and he can build one for $400, that gets my attention. What is a MU 2001 Con. FE clutch anyway????

Maybe I can clear this up. What Kurk is trying to do is, all 2001 ETH clutches are the same and sence we tweak the new OEM clutches some that are taken out of the trucks are like new. We can take the original clutch {core) that came out of the truck and upgrade it to our kit # MU 2001 CON FE. This will help save people money because we will not have to purchase a new clutch and the savings will be passed along. Understand though this will be considered a rebuilt product. We never offered a core rebate because what we are selling is new and we did not want people to think they might be buying a rebuilt clutch. Also, because we did not have the cores it would have created alot of down time and additional shipping expense with the back and forth routine. Most people did not have the time and the garages don't like having their bay tied up for long periods of time. So, what Kurk is trying to do is get a core in circulation so this problem does not exist. Good job Kurk, way to be innovative. Peter

I have a core! Where do I send it??

Peter. . Thanks for clarifing up my post.

I kept my call to you short as I pay International rates and they rack up fast. .

I have 2 more questions
1. What is the estimated rebuild time?
2. What warranty would you offer with a rebuilt unit?

More about my post:: My thoughts where that most of us 2001 ETH owners are upgrading or changing our clutches because of slippage after bombing. They are not worn out or high mileage clutches. So if we send a Very good condition core ahead to Southbend they can upgrade it and it will be ready for a Kwik install for the next guy.

Since we are TDR members and help each out there should be no problem with a refund ($100 from the last truck owner that is upgrading) if Southbend finds one of the Cores are not in great condition.

I am buying a new Southbend because I don't have the time to wait (Heavy towing in mountain terrain starting on tue)for the rebuilt unit that I had spoken to Peter about. We originally were talking about a brand new DC ETH clutch that I have (see classifieds). Peter said that they Tweek and improve the original design. I am happy with the stock design (smooth engagement and well sprung center section)But it will not hold higher than stock power. Since I tow large trailers and drive my truck alot (48,000 miles 90%Hwy in 8 months) I wanted to keep the easy pedal pressure and smooth operation.

I will #ad
stop Bombing around 400hp and from what I hear the upgraded pressure plate and disc material are exactly what I have been trying to get the local clutch shops to do.

If I had a great core and the time I would send it in and wait for a rebuilt/upgraded unit. So I hope this can help other members to save some $$$$ towards future Bombing or Divorce which ever comes first.

I want to add that you will have to pay shipping from Southbend to you.

Kurt, sorry about Kurk. The turn around time is, the day it comes in is the day it goes out. We most often get everything done in one day, that way, when we come in in the morning we can shoot the sh--- over a cup of coffee and say the (LAKERS SUCK) LOL. Our warrenty is as always, if your unsatisfied give me a call and I will do what it takes to make you happy. To me that is good business. Peter

OK so for those of you thinking of trying this Core foward plan... If I install my new clutch on tuesday then ship the cores from Phx AZ ground freight to South Bend in Indiana It would take about 4 or 5 days to get there and 1 more day to be ready to ship out to you. Depending on shipping to you it should be around 10 buisness days that you could be putting all that Cummins Torque to the ground and rattling your neighbors windows #ad

And for the first 10 people that sign up Peter will fly out and install it for free! #ad

Just Kidding!!!

Anyone in Phx Az. area want to hangout and watch me upgrade my Generac Ram. I could use someone to open beers and someone for cussing - as I am trying to stop.

Peter, will us Ram owners here in Southern California have to pay extra for one of your clutches after the Lakers thrash the Pacers for the second year in a row? #ad
Or should we order before the series even starts?
