Folks, I was (off line) headed to the vcr to plug in a movie when I was posessed to make a point. A friend is conspicuous by his absence, that's right, CWRENCH, wait that's CMECHANIC. Larry's right, "C". You gotta show that 'puter who's boss (enforce the Master-Pet relationship as we call it at work). Pull out that dos boot disk and it'll start to quiver, unplug the battery on the motherboard and listen to it scream. . but show no mercy!

I got back on line Sunday, but i ran into a political quandry at work monday. By the powers that sign my pay check, the powers that build engines, and the powers that buy engines. it was requested that i only post in order to send owners to the offical web pages to the powers that be. That and i can say "oooh ! that is a pretty color blue truck". I can guess one or two places; or interests; that sent the virus. But, i'll leave it at that---and have no proof. I like the place that i work, getting married in two weeks, and a child in Jan. ; so i bow to the greater powers. But, i still want a crew cab.
 
CMECH, I'm sure I speak for many when I say I appreciate your willingness to share your wealth of knowledge. I hope you will still be an active participant on the board, in a way that won't get you in trouble. Don't risk your job for the benefit of us "turboheads", though. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and child.

Sorry to hear about the political game playing. I have enjoyed your participation on the boards and it is a damn shame when companies suppress good info, because they fear the truth. Last time I checked -- the TDR, Cummins and Dodge had a pretty good relationship and it makes me wonder if it is only skin deep on someone's part?? Anyway, please stick around and participate in whatever capacity you can, while still waving the corporate flag. Also glad to hear you licked that virus.

Well, I hope I speak for everybody when I say that's a crock of sh#t. I like my truck, but I am really beginning to dislike Chrysler and Cummins. HEY DC AND CUMMINS, read the 1st Amendment. There weren't any trade secrets being given away. Maybe you should have thought about the repercussions and feedback when you deliberately(?) put out a lower powered product. Thanks for the info CMECH, stay in touch.

It's a shame that the governments and big corporations feel they have to protect people from to much information. CMECHANIC I don't blame you one bit and would not risk getting fired over this. Maybe some day DC or Cummins will actually hire someone to do what you were doing. Maybe they could call it customer service? I hope I live long enough to see it!

I just jumped out of my Cummins dodge and was in a hurry to see what was going on here. Reading the posts first made me amused (dmurdock, etc. ), then the others made me think. I analyze(question) motivation for everything people or companies do, in an effort to understand why they move in a particular direction. I emailed "C" something that I'll share here. I feel the moves made by Cummins are a result of being dragged into litigation. The law suit they where involved in taught them some harsh lessons. Follow the money trail, (they were penalized many millions of $'s). This was the genesis for a new line of thinking to protect them from future loss. They swooped down on Mark Chapple, Dr. P. told me that he had met with them the day prior. Dr. P. said something similiar about Blue Chip. They may have been advised that any condoning of modifications will put them right back in front of the litigation train. I mentioned to "C" that the litigation spawned a whole new kind of security, the litigation police. Anything that could be percieved as promoting modification of their product which would compromise emissions could be used against that source and potentially Cummins in a court of law.

Somehow herein, I am trying to take a position of support for "C" who I think should be able to say whatever he wants. But somehow understand why the situation has come to its current state of peculularity.

I do appreciate people chiming in here (support for "C"), it reinforces what I felt. Maybe with the abhorent dues charged to the new TDR Ram Runners club we will be able to afford to retain his services as a private Cummins engine doctor (I want steroids).

Dont put your job in jepardy, but the Cummins Support is really slow, i sent an e-mail reuqest or question in July and just got an answer to it this week, and it wasnt a tough question. only about the timing spec for a 1995 Dodge Cumins Ram being changed from 12. 5 degrees to something close to 14 degrees. They did appologize about the slow service, but quite honest i had forgot asking the question!!

I think a change in name that would not be apparent should help, but should not be necessary.
