Yeah, OK Exxon! I don't see the point in destroying our economy either. I hope the realize that they are shooting themselves in the foot in the long run. My guess is that once things start to really take a turn for the worse because of high gas prices, they will find a magical way to lower prices. I'd buy into their BS about their increased cost, tight supply, ect. if it wern't for the profit numbers they post each quarter.

Actually they made a PROFIT of $4. 45 Million dollars an hour during that 3 month period which breaks down to a profit of $74,667 Minute.

It's been known the oil Companies have been making high profits for a long time! Trouble is, NO ONE IN A POSITION TO DO SOMETHING, WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

Wayne... please... don't wait for some crooked politician to do something about it. WE, the consumers, are the ones who need to do something about it. Most people here (Cummins owners) are helping the situation (except for you guys who insist on making smoke).

I know I've slowed down on driving the pick-up whenever possible, use bio-diesel whenever possible and use the wifes Jetta (man. . is that purchase looking sweet right now) almost all the time (gotta drive the Dodge to work).

No. . I'm not waiting for anybody to fix this thing for me. Oh their nailing us alright. . we just need to step up and fight back.

I appreciate the fact that you are now driving a smaller Diesel powered vehicle a larger percentage of the time, therefore not using as much Diesel fuel. However, there are those who still have to drive the almighty Cummins in order to carry on. NO, I do not insist upon making smoke, infact I despise those that purposely go around shoing how they can smoke up the enviroment.



As to us as consumers doing something about the price of fuel, I agree we could do something, but it would take MOST of us, and that is NOT going to happen! There are too many that will continue to do as they have in the past, not wanting to give up anything.

Let me see, so that means if you own a company and work to make a 3 per cent profit and sell a $100. 00 worth of goods and make a profit of $3. 00so if you like that and work harder and your product is in great demand so you sell $1000. 00 and now make $30. 00 profit you should give back everything over the $30. 00 because you are making too much profit. Come on folks we do not want to start putting taxes on people because they have a good product, know how to market it and the demand goes up. When the demand goes down so does the profit but your still in business, think about the company you work for more profit more good things for the employees. If any of you out there have a retirement plan they is a good chance that some our your retirement dollars are invested in the oil companies, making you one of the owners of that company and the profits are helping to build up your retrirement account. Remember that often the first shot may be into your own foot. I do not complain because people are sucessful in fact am glad for them but do get upset that our supply cannot keep up with demand because single issue people did not want to think ahead enough to allow us to build more refineries in this county or do more drilling in places where no human lives anyway.

Hey MPWALKER, I agree with your comments. I have not read in any of these posts what percentage profit the oil companies are making. Not one of these posts indicate just how much profit is reasonable - they don't have a clue. I don't like high prices either but it sounds like some of you want to ride the oil execs out of town on a rail. I'm retired and I live on investments and I want companies to make all the profit they can. I'm sure many of you are expecting your IRAs to show a gain when you retire and oil companies are probably part of your future income. So becareful what you wish for - government interference is not the answer.
