How are you guys getting your coax cable to the bed on your trucks? I have an 02 Dodge quad cab long bed. I really don't want to drill any holes, but I will if I have to. Thanks. T.

I take it for a CB? I seen brackets sticking out of the hood/fender gap back by the doors. I seen others mount on the front bed corner. What is best location? Also can be a different problem with a cap.

Yep, for a c. b. I am tryin to figure out how to get the cable from the c. b. to the bed i. e. an existing hole or how somebody else did it.

Best to drill a hole in the front wall. if you havea way to mount a end on the cable and drill a hole for the size of the cable only, that works good.

To get the cable into the cab there is a rubber plug in the A-piller between the upper and lower hinge mounts. Remove the inner kick panel to then route inside the cab.

I fed mine through the main grommet where most of the wires go through the firewall on the drivers side. My antennas are all mounted on the back edge of the hood on the passenger side so that was pretty easy to route. If you are going to the bed, you can run along the frame and come into one of the corners of the bed.

Another option is to run it under the carpet to the back seat. There should be some knock outs in the floor at the back of the cab. Real easy if you have the storage option with the back seat that flips up.

Thanks a lot for the help fellas. I decided to go with just a single antenna up on the top of the cab. I didn't want to drill holes in my tool box. Ran the coax through the headliner and through the 3rd brake light. Had to notch it a little bit and am going to put a little dab of silicone on there to keep what little bit of water out that could get in there.

fyi- Firestik Antenna Company Home Page has the greatest info. IT explains cable length (18' prefered) how to wrap extra (no coils! and not less than 12" diameter) not within 12" of am/fm radio ant, 2/3 or 60% of ant above roofline, 50 ohm for singles & 75 ohm coax for duals and ant. placment just to name a few things I learned.
