My new 2006 just threw this code this morning. I tried to clear it with a "do-it-yourself" OBDII scanner I bought but the scanner just says "E" as if it can't understand what the ECM is telling it! The scanner DOES work just fine on the 2004 Ram I have. Perhaps 2006

s aren't OBDII anymore?????

Anyway, does anyone have any idea WHAT might be causing this? I do have an AFE Stage II installed. Think the intake temp sensor doesn't understand why the air coming in is colder then what it thinks it should be??? Or did I somehow break the air intake sensor when I VERY CAREFULLY removed it and reinstalled it in the AFE? The AFE has been on for a few days- this morning was the first time this code has appeared.

I think they changed to CAN Bus for 06s. If so I guess that my OBDII scanner will be no good for that either. Maybe have to update to CAN tool.

I got that code a couple of days ago and I just attributed it to the -41 air temp. Sometimes that doesn't seem reasonable/rational to me. It cleared on its own.

Is the sensor near the air filter plugged in? I got that code once after an oil change where it wasn'in all the way.

I took the sensor off on Sunday and removed the wiring harness, reconnected it and then reinstalled it in the AFE intake. Code went away! Didn't run any different with or without code set so I'm not going to worry about it much if it comes back.
