Code 0628

My truck--03 2500 4WD Quad cab 305 Cummins I lost power to fuel pump. Threw code 0628 which is " FUEL PUMP RELAY CIRCUIT LOW ". There isn't a marked relay or fuse in the PDC box under the hood. Is there a relay? Is there a fuse?Any answers would be appreceiated. TDragna

99 out of 100 times it will be the lift pump

Bob4x4---Thanks for the reply. You are correct,the fuel pump ( FASS ) is worn out. I installed it in 4/04 and driven 80,000 miles with it. It is a older model and the brushes are worn out. Easy fix but i decided to go with a new motor & pump. TDragna

Strange, the FASS is activated by a relay and that would have had to be open for the truck to set a code. In other words, the truck hooks up to the relay instead of straight to the pump like it did with the stock setup. Did you skip the relay in your install?

I have run into a lot of the early installs that ran straight off the factory feed ckt
