Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) code 1693

Hi everyone,

I would like some help in understanding what this code means?

I have cleared the computer a couple of times and it keeps

coming back.

My truck runs fine (good milage and power) just a bit puzzled.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine

control module.



P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC

Detected in ECM

A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM.

Its a generic code that means there was a problem between the ECM-PCM. It really means noting unless there are other codes with it.
