Archived Code 2509

Started my truck this morning and check engine light came on, plugged in bulldog programmer and code said 2509 ecm/pcm intermittent , cleared the code and started it , it came right back, while the truck was idling it would miss and the ammeter would drop down low then gradually come back up, cleared the code 4 times before it didn't come back on,Truck runs fine now , like nothing was ever wrong, What could have caused this?, any ideas, Thanks ahead of time for any and all responses, Monte

Guess it's about time to replace the batteries, nearly 8 yrs. old , Truck has been running fine all day without any problems since this morning, see what happens in the morning, then go get some batts, Thanks Bob 4x4
