How do I clear a code? Tried disconnecting the batteries - no go.

the only way is to get a scanner or a programmer that will clear codes, the feds made it illegal for the companies to allow disconnecting the batts to clear codes.

My understanding is that at least for the 2002 models, 5 consecutive no malfunction detected starts will clear the codes.



Can someone clarify this?

code will remain but the light will go out.

yep code has to stay in the computer but the light will go out, depending on the code depends on how many good trips it needs to see before it will shut the light off
