Filter Minder???

I just changed my oil and oil filter, and the fuel filter. When I changed the oil filter I did it from the top and removed the intake tube. But when I was all done I forgot to plug in the little jack on top of the intake tube before I started the truck. That is the only thing that happened out of the ordinary.

Now my mill light is on and I'm getting codes. .

P0107 - map sensor

P0073 - ???

Help, what do I do ?

P. S. I checked all the jacks on the EZ and they seem to be good.

Jeff

The codes were set most likely because the sensor in the intake was unplugged. I did that once too. Just make sure it's plugged in now and the light should go out after a few start cycles. Re-check the MAP and IAT sensor plugs just to make sure they are secure, then drive it.

I agree with mberry. People are constantly reporting those codes from forgetting to reinstall the IAT sensor connector when they put the air box back in.

No problem.

Thanks for the quick replies ! It's definately not very hard to justify membership for this site !

One other quick question, is it a major problem to have a little too much oil in the crank case on these trucks ?

I had three 1 gallon oil jugs, I filled the filter and put the rest in the crank case. With about 1 quart left in the last gallon jug I checked the dip stick and it was halfway between add and safe, so I put the last quart or so in. Then after driving around to warm it up a little I let it sit for 20 min and checked the dip stick again. But now it was about 1/2" - 1" over the safe mark. So should I drain some or not worry about it ?

Sorry if my questions are pretty novice, but I'm just getting to the point on this truck where I do all my own fluid changes.

Jeff

I always put exactly 3 gallons in and it was perfectly on the full line. 1" above the full line might be too much but this is beyond my knowledge on these trucks. I do know that it's bad to overfill on my boats' engine.

problem doesn't happen when you remove the oil filter from below and leave the air box and sensor as is ;)

and i have had a baro/map/iat sensor at the air box fail... if you throw that p0107 code and have no engine drivability issues under load between 1900-2000 rpm you are fine, and the code will reset its self. mine failed while driving and the engine develops a nasty stumble right at that rpm and the engine defuels heavily after that point, but still fuels enough to build full boost, just very slowly [i loaded the truck in 3th with the brakes on to see what it would do with the sensor nfg]

Well, I'm happy to say my mill light has gone off today ! I drained a little bit of oil to get it right on the top of the safe mark. I don't know why it took a little less than 3 gal. cause I warmed it up before draining and left the drain plug out for about 1/2 an hour. Not too big of a deal anyway.

Thanks for the help !

Here is what the codes mean:

P0107=Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input

P0073=P0073 Ambient Temperature Sensor High
