I have been experiencing the dead pedal. I have a 2001 2500 stock except a 4`` exhaust. I did the turning the key off then on to get the code read out.

The codes im getting are 1693-ECU-0216. Can anyone tell me what sort of problems I will have?Taking truck in to dealer this Friday. Thanks

Looks like your VP44 (injection pump) is on its way out. If you are under 100k miles it should be covered under your warranty.

Whats your Fuel Pressure been running ??

It starts around 5 psi & goes up SLOWELY to 9.

The Vp most likly roasted because of overheating conditions the pump dont use 100% of the supplied fuel that is delivered ... . the Constant 12 PSI Goal is because @ 12 PSI there is sufficent extra fuel delivered to keep the VP44 Injection Pump running cool.



At 5-9 there wasnt much fuel avalible to keep the pump Refreshed and that may be the cause of its faluire
