I've had the quad xzt 65 horse tow module on for about 8,000 miles or so and this is the first time I've had any problems. The truck was idling for about 10 min. The rpm's started swinging all over the place and the truck was running extremely rough. after shutting it off and re-starting the idle was still very erratic. Driving it the power was good but when I let off accelerator you could feel the truck struggling to run. It was also putting out allot of black smoke. Pulled over, shut the truck off ,disconnected the xzt and the truck idled and ran fine. Still have check engine light on from prior described event though. Anybody else experience these symptoms in conjunction with this code. Truck only has 30,000 miles

Best go see your friendly Dodge dealer

I would go and see the local service mgr. at the Dodge store. They always help me.

Well I decided to install a new fuel filter before plugging the xzt back in. This will be my trucks4th fuel filter with a little over 30,000 miles on it now. I also double checked my connections which were good and tight. I've already used dielectric grease in the xzt wiring harness. The truck fired right up and was idling buttery smooth with the xzt in operation this time. Drives down the road perfect as well. I have used sea foam in my last tank of fuel and prior to that was using a Howes additive. Now I guess I need to wait for 40-50-key cycles so my engine light will turn off I hope. Unfortunately I don't have a down loader to erase it myself If the code p0148 is able to be erased by an after market downloader?
