Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Code P0216 & P1689

I have a 1999 Dodge with the 5. 9 last night while pulling my bass boat the engine shut down and the check engine light come on the truck would not restart, It is showing codes P0216 INJECTION TIMING CONTROL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION, FUEL INJECTIN PUMP TIMING FAILURE AND P1689 MANUFACTURER CONTROL AUXILIARY INPUTS AUX. OUTPUTS. I have changed the fuel filter and broke the injector lines loose and I am getting fuel not sure what to check for the code also unhooked the edge EZ THINKING THAT COULD BE IT ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

The 216 code is an indicator that your pump is worn out. The 1689 code tells you than the electronics on you pump have failed. I put a Blue Chip pump on a '99 model a couple weeks ago. It was pretty easy and I got great service from Chip.
