Been setting this code on occasion lately. The first times it only happened while WOT and no deterioration of performance noted. However a few weeks later while at 65 MPH the engine skipped, perhaps de-fueled, and set the
P0336 code. About a half hour later it did the same but ran so terrible I had to pull off the highway. Whenever I touched the throttle even in neutral the engine rattled like crazy with plenty of gray smoke. After shutting down to read what code was set I cleared it with the Smarty and restarted and it ran as good as before!
I was running the Smarty version 411AD411D, sw 9, and wild torque management, (not happy with REVO yet). The TST CR49 was on 2/0 and everything else off, no timing, standard turbo, although I have twins, etc.
I later changed the TST to 0/0 and haven't seen the code yet but I feel I haven't driven long enough, 200 miles, to make a determination, however I am thinking the TST could be the culprit.
Do you think I should at least have a new sensor on hand and wait or replace now?
I tow commercially with Smarty using V411AD211D sw 3 and mild TM. Sometimes TST at 1/0 or 2/0.
Just a bit over 400,000 miles now.
