I haul trailer out of Indiana and it just start ed putting out a code P0871 when down shifting from 6th to 5th gear on hills! I cannot find it in TDR code listings Could anyone tell me what it means. The doesnot lose power

Replace the entire valve body assy (not just the solenoid module). Odds are, in a 2007-2008 Cummins truck with >100K miles, P0871 is likely caused by a worn Solenoid Switch Valve (SSV) bore in the main valve body. This allows pressure to leak into (or out of) the OD clutch passage, and generally the first sign of trouble is the P0871 fault. Despite its name, the SSV is in the main valve body, not in the solenoid module. A new valve body assy will also include a new solenoid module.
