Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) code p1698 no bus mes. to pcm???????????

my trans has been shifting funny lately so i had truck scanned an p1698 came up it said no bus message from pcm. does this mean the pcm needs to be replaced?? i checked wires goin to the pcm an they looked ok . no check engine light has come on. i even replaced the gov. pressure silinoid an trans speed sensor that didnt work. thats when i had it scanned anyone had this problem?????????????please help. see mods below thanks
