Returning home after a recent camping trip (towing my trailer) during which I felt my truck was performing sluggishly and EGTs were running higher than normal, I got a P2121 Code. After researching it, I cleaned the connectors on my trans range switch to no change - still throwing code.

I ordered a new accel pedal from RockAuto and installed it (super easy to install - like 3 bolts) since the the APPS is part of the accel pedal on my '06. I also changed out the trans range sensor as well just for good measure - it has been a while since I replaced it. Went on another camping trip towing some of the same hills and WOW! Truck ran perfectly, no sluggishness, no EGT issues.

Just an FYI if anyone is experiencing unattributed sluggishness or getting this DTC. Super easy fix. Part was around $150 and took about 15mins to install with simple hand tools.

My 04 was acting a little sluggish last week while towing. What is the APPS you refer to? I have a throttle sensitivity booster on the 2014 but this appears to be different. I have not thrown a code but have 130K on the truck and expect small things to start wearing out. I.E., recent thread on the cruise control vacuum module.

On my 2006, the APPS (Accel Pedal Position Sensor) is located on the Accel Pedal itself. Part num 53032794AB. Mine has approx 130K.

The apps on the 04.5 & older trucks is above the cp3 fuel pump.

I just had a dead pedal on Sat, code 2121 & 2123.
Dead pedal @ half throttle then 100% TP while my foot was @ 1/3~!

Scary! Thankfully the eng did not reach hit full rpms before dropping again.

I ordered a new APPS from genos garage. Should be here mid week.

Yikes. As soon as I got this code, I ordered the part. Was not willing to risk the dead pedal or stuff like you did! I am just happy that I did not get the code until I was home!

Made me wonder who was in control!

I shut the truck off then restarted & all was good till I got home.
Now she's parked till I get this fixed.

1~2 years ago my shop guy said he saw readings (TP%) on my Smarty Touch that where not accurate but I never saw this myself so I let it go.... Till now! :)
