Well, just when I thought I was doing everything right, driving home got the infamous code P2262. . One of the many features of the Edge Juice is code reading which I do... To sum it up... . Turbo needs cleaning or replacement... Have 14,850 on the truck, I drive through Regen's since the Edge tells me when the regen is on. Don;t let the truck idle and still has the soot problem. . I now need to disconnect all of the injector harness, take out the Edge ECM, the harness, and the controller off the dash as instructed by the service writer as he said, "we didn't have this conversation". What a pain in the _ _ _... ... . I really thought I would dodge(excuse the pun)the turbo problem... two days down next week in the shop and hopefully they have a qualified diesel mechanic working there. I sold Mac Tools for 8 years and can count on two hands the number of mechanics that I would let work on my vehicles and they all didn't work at the dealer! Oh well, just wanted to vent... Love the truck, love the motor, hate the smog which will all come off when warranty is over unless California starts testing before that... .

There is a relatively new test in the starscan for the 2262 code-the code must be present to run the test. The test will tell you #1 to update software or #2 to clean turbo or #3 to replace turbo. Very simple about 2 minutes from hook up to completion.

Hey John, wished I had done research before buying... . this truck goes into regen at some of the worst times... . For those that don't have a system that tells them the truck is in regen or a pyrometer to see I feel sorry for them. . If I had not joined this site after purchasing would have never known about the DPF filter, EGR issues and all of the other stuff. Somebody made a statement on the site that it isn't a grocery getter... . I would agree but how many of us bought the truck for commercial purpose, live right next to a freeway, of only use the truck to haul a fifth wheel. We all know how good Cummins motor is and the truck has great lines... . My friend think I am crazy after reading some of the posts. They have Chevy and Fords, of course older diesels... I am sure that the other brands will have their issues when they comply with the strict smog laws... Living in California is always a challenge in regards to our cars passing smog. . My daughters Camry will need a new motor in 2 years as it just passed smog... . Bob thanks for the insight as I will talk to the mechanic to see what he knows... . The pissy thing now is that I have to take the Edge Juice completely out of the truck!!!!! Then have to reinstall it... sure glad I am mechaniclly inclined.....

There is absolutely no reason to drive it through the regen. If it does not complete it will start again on the next drive. Based on your current experience, I think you just confirmed it.

Update..... Got the truck back one day after taking it in... They did the turbo cleaning as indicated on the work order they used 6 cans of cleaner. They also took the EGR out and cleaned it. . They cleared the code and now let's see how low it is before it throws the code again... They said the turbo gets the cleaning first before the next step of turbo replacement... I have reinstalled the Edge-probably will get real good at R and R on the Edge as I am sure it will be back to the dealer again down the road for the soot problem... that's it for the moment...
