Alright, this truck is new to me as of 2 months ago. It has 97000 miles and runs like a top. I just changed the oil and did a service check on everything and pulled codes... . I was greeted with two codes. ECU- P1693, and PCU- P0500. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge on this truck yet, but I need to know if I am living on borrowed time with the VP44. I am going to be making a trip to Houston, TX for Christmas and this is not the best time to put a new fuel pump in, if you know what i mean... .

I forgot to mention. The truck has an edge comp installed, I dont use the chip, but I don't know how it was used before. It was there when I got the truck. I also wonder if I can get a high idler?

Thanks Norm.

There is a proper code list here somewhere, a search should find it.

My Actron software says the 500 code is a vehicle speed sensor A circuit malfunction. The 1693 is the "companion code", the ECU is just sayin' "hey, the other brain has a problem".

I cant predict what will break in the future, but I'd say you'll have a worry free trip to houston. At least this code isn't from the VP.
