I have been having some problems with my throttle response. I turned my ignition on and off and got the following numbers. I hope someone can let me know what they mean. As always, thanks for the help.
the 1693 means the ECU and PCU were not talking nicely with each other. Officially it is a comms mismatch. Don't worry about this number. Unfortunately I don't have my tech manual at my side for you 216 which is your real issue. some on will get you the web page for the answer to that number.
0216 is injection pump timing failure. It can be caused by too low or too high pressure from the lift pump or the vp44 crapping out according to the manual. My vp44 got replaced after they tested my lift pump and found it to be fine. I had to wait for it to come back a couple times after it was cleared as STAR would not authorize the replacement of the vp because they couldn't duplicate the problem. Mine got progressively worse very quickly (within a couple weeks I was afraid to drive it out of the city). But in the end they took care of it no problem except for my 4 trips to the dealer.
