Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Code set: P0380??

I see that the Code means a problem in the intake air heater control circuit, but I am wondering have any of you had this same code and can give me a heads up on what to look for other than the grid heater itself. Can I trace the wire back to the relay to test? The grid heater seems to have been working lately though.

the grid heater relays are under the hood on left fender, behind the battery down low. there are two of them.
