Hey guys I just bought my first CTD abot 2 weeks ago. I have a couple of questions for you. It has 2 codes in it 0500 and a 1693 shoyuld I be worried about these? the first thing I did when I got this truck was to have a FASS system installed after reading up on all the lift pump failures. My other question is will a aftermarket exhaust void my warrenty if so I better take the stock system out carefully. My truck is a 2001 3500 quad cab 2 wheel drive 5 spd 54,000 miles.

According to the OBDII Code definitions

Code P0500=Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction

Code P1693=Turbo Charger Control Circuit Malfunction

Not sure on the warranty issue but i do know the stock muffler was a bear to get off because of those darn u-bolt clamps crimping it! Go with the flat band type clamp when you put in a new system they make removal down the road a lot easyer!

Code P1693 is a companion code it will flash when the ECM has a code set ... you will see P1693 with any type of trouble

you must of had it on a coder if you know you have the P0500 . . thats your problem the P1693 is just letting you know there is something wrong and this something is P0050

Were you doing burnouts. When a p0500 is set, it is usually caused by spinning the rear wheels. The speed sensor will indicate that the rear wheels are moving at a different speed than the front wheels, and set that code. If you have a scan tool, just clear the code.
