0234 code is over boost, the 1693 is acompanion code that accompanies most other codes. has nothing to do with a/c/ do you have mods that increase your boost?

What is not working on the A/C (fan, compressor kicking on/off, no cold air)?

Are you sure that the system has Freon (134a) in it and at the proper level? You can pick up a set of Manifold Vaccum Gauges from Advanced Auto Parts for around $80 that will show you both the low and high pressure sides of the system. Depending on the outside temp, with the A/C on high, there should be around 30psi on the low side and around (I think, I would not know for sure w/o looking at a my gauge set) 200psi on the high side (engine @ 800rpm). Those numbers should increase in pressure as the engine speed increases.

No, those codes have nothing to do with the A/C.

No mods that increase boost that I know of. Just got the truck on monday. I did notice evidence of previous mods though, drilled and tapped exhaust manifold, non-factory clamp on the boost elbow(can't tell if it the factory one or what), looks like the pump wire has a tapped lead on it.

wiggle the wire connector on the dryer and I'll bet the AC starts working. get yourself some dielectric grease and apply some to the two terminals if this fixes ya.

in case you are wondering the dryer is that round can looking thing on the firewall behind your turbo.

CHeck the FAQ section in this forum for all the DTC codes!

Echoing what Rich said earlier in this thread... . If you turn the A/C full on, the inside of your cab should be noticeably cooler in less than 3 minutes. It's definitely worthwhile confirming that you have sufficient R134 refrigerant in the system. I got mine recharged last summer (not expensive!), when I noticed it was not having as much effect as it used to from new and it made one heck of a difference. Hope this helps!

One other thing worth mentioning, in the FAQ section of this forum you'll see a comprehensive list of DTC fault codes that were compiled by TDR member
ToolManTimTaylor , so always available on-line if you don't have a copy of the Service manual handy for your truck.

Recharged the system over the weekend and will see how long that lasts. As far as the codes went down to Advanced Auto parts and had them hook up the code scanner and reset the codes for me. So far hasn't set set them.
