My truck had been triggering these codes on a fairly regular basis, more so when driving at low speeds in heavy traffic when RPM's were in the 1000-1400 range. After 74k miles & almost 3 years I decided to replace my batteries, having been stranded in my previous truck with a 2 year old DC battery that went open circuit without any warning. I installed new Interstates (group 65's) about a month ago. No more codes since then, even after some marathon traffic jams here. I'm thinking that as these batteries age, charging temps increase, thus the battery temp rationality fault codes. Interesting that the crank position sensor code has not come back too... ... ...

I just tripped P0154 Battery Temp Sensor also. Truck is 2 years and 2 months old. I have been doing alot of idling lately and not alot of freeway driving. Wondering if that has anything to do with it.

The sensor costs about 50 bucks but I think it's about time to replace batterys anyways. 2 Years for a DC battery is about max I think.
