Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Codes P1492 and P1493? What the?

I checked my truck for codes the other day shet's and giggles even though the truck has never so much as farted since I bought it new almost 4 years ago. No check engine lights or nothin'. The service manual say the P1492 code means Ambient/batt temp sensor volts too hi while the P1493 code means the volts for the same sensor are too low. What the heck do I have here? Are my batteries dying? The truck starts fine and runs great. The only accessories on the truck are guages and a Pac Brake. Any clues?

Clear the codes and don't worry about it yet. Start checking it once a week for a while to see if the codes come back.

That's sound advice. How do you clear the codes? I imagine I have to pull a fuse or disconnect the batteries...

AutoZone offers to clear them for free. I would think that you would be able to find someone to do it for you if there is not an AutoZone available. Plucking the batteries does not work on our trucks

What does doing it TEN or so times do? Someone told me that would clear the computer. Not so??
