Codes - P2002, P0405, P049D, P245B

Hi Folks -



Had my truck in for the K33 recall (power steering cap) and the tech checked the ECM. He found these codes stored in memory - P2002, P0405, P049D, P245B. Does anyone know what these codes stand for? It was the end of the day and tech hot footed it home, service rep. did not have a clue.



I have run the last 16K miles w/EGR unplugged and plugged it back in prior to the dealer visit. Howeve, the CEL stayed on.

Hi,

Most of these codes are due to emission issues with the engine that were logged in the ECM. On page 233 and 234 of the Turbo Diesel Buyers Guide, you can find the definition of the codes. Such as P2002, P2002 – Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold

This can be downloaded from this site for reference and stored on your computer.



When I had my EGR un-plugged and ran for a time this way. I would plug the EGR in about two weeks before I went into the dealer, for any service. This way there would be enough key starts to clear any codes that were recorded from the EGR being un-plugged.
