Can somebody help, check Engine light came on this morning, went to a local O'Reilly they rented me a code scanner. Have codes PO251 and P1693 present. I reset the light and drove the truck home about 12 miles the light hasn't come back yet. It seems to me this might have happened a long time ago, can't really remember and I never got to the bottom of it then. The truck runs fine. I installed one of the new FASS DRP lift pumps from Geno's on the frame rail a couple of months ago, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. Any help will be appreciated!!

Disregard the 1693, that's just a system pointer to the P0251 - and that one is:

P0251 (M) Fuel Inj. Pump Mech. Failure Fuel

Valve Feedback Circuit

Problem sensed with fuel circuit internal to fuel injection

pump.

O. k. thanks for telling me what the codes mean, can you elaborate further?? Is my VP44 about to fail? I thought the code of death was PO216. I did a search on here and a google search, one thread I followed mentioned the 251 code having to do with the incoming fuel pressure from the lift pump and there was some sort of regulator valve on the side of the VP44 close to the fuel inlet that could be replaced fairly easily, but that was about all I could find and it wasn't very definitive. Oh and I do have a fuel pressure gauge it was the first thing I installed on the truck after bringing it home 9 years ago. Any more ideas anyone????
