my truck has recently threw out a few codes P0500, P0743, P1693, P1694. What do these codes mean and what can i do to fix it?

Go to the top of this forum where it says "24 valve FAQ" and there is a thread titled "THE 24V code list" at the very top, it lists all of the codes.

Or Click Here

P0500 (M) No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal A vehicle speed signal was not detected.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine

control module.

Detected in ECM

A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM.

I've heard that the P0500 can come from spinning the tires during slippery conditions and had it happen one time during a snowy period, I'm not sure though because I do burn outs once in a while since the dual disk install and haven't had it come in.

P0743 sounds like trans problems but I have a manual

P1693/4 are companion codes and just tell you that you have a code.

The only one I would concern myself with is the P0743, fix that and some of the other ones will go away, the P0500 I would clear and see if it comes right back, if not don't worry about it.
