can anyone please explain what a P1693 code is ? I was traveling along the Highway when my truck bucked and slowed down briefly and then carried on for a short distance then stopped. I eventually got it started again and moved off the road to a parking lot. I did the key on and off three times and got P1693 code which translats to DTC detected in PCM or ECM. What does this mean?

Try conducting the code check again. Sounds like you may have missed some codes during the 1st check.

It's not uncommon to only get a P1693 when doing the key check. Brian, you'll probably need to get a code reader and hook it up to read what other codes were set. I think places like Pep Boys will hook up their code reader to your truck and show you the codes for free. Or you can get with someone who has a Smarty--I'm pretty sure those can read codes too.

I'm going through a similar problem--I've only got P1693 being displayed with the key check, and the truck is driving in limp mode with very little power. I'm pretty sure in my case it's either the MAP or IAT sensors are dead or dying, or my Edge Comp is on the fritz.
