275 Injectors & 6-speed...

More power for the 03's

Does anyone know if there are any companies that make a cold air intake system for our trucks that also uses a paper type filter as opposted to the oiled/gauze filters?

Thanks

Check out the new AFE Proguard 7... . Looks the same as the Mega Cannon but has a different filter that is supposed to meet manufacturer specs for filtration. :D

Yeah I saw the pro gaurd 7 and was thinking about that too, I'm looking for a replacement for my Scotty II. Last time I took it off there was a huge crack in the mounting flange to the inlet tube. I was thinking about modifing the stock box with a length of 4" drain stack from the Cowl hole, but wonder/worry about moister being sucked into the paper filter when it rains/snows and causing it to deteriorate. Which would be a HUGE problem.

Anyone know if AFE is making the Progaurd 7 filters to fit a Scotty II?

Thanks

The air box is the biggest restriction in the stock air intake system. Even empty, it is restrictive if high airflow/hp is involved. Wet cloth = cloth

wet paper = slimy bits of goo that go where you don't want them :(

The ProGuard7 uses 7 layers of cloth and is the first oiled element filter that I have used on my Ram for more than a dyno run. It is on permanently, with the prefilter screen too. Previously, I was quite worried about desert dust penetrating oiled element filters, and about overoiling sending oil through the intercooler.
