Bought a 95, 2 wheel, auto, 65K late last fall ran great. Yesterday it was rather cold, minus 10, thought it a good time to check out the truck. It started great, I covered part of the radiator so the thermostat opened and closed normally with the temp gauge going almost to the 190 degree mark and then down as usual. Everything ran fine till about 10-15 miles down the road at 55 MPH it kicked out of O/D. I stopped and idled for a few minutes and it kicked in just fine but again 10 or 15 miles it kicked out again. In town it reacted just fine kicking in around 38 MPH.
It seemed as the transmission was cooling down and kicking out. I don't beleive this is normal even in cold weather. Anyone with any suggestions.
