Archived cold auto trany will not shift

I have a 95 3/4 4x4 auto. When its cold out my truck will not shift into O. D. or lock up.

This is normal. Programmed this way. Take a look at your owner's manual.

Try putting your transmission in neutral during warm up, it allows the fluid to circulate whereas park does not. LandShark is correct, it's supposed to act that way.

tsterkin udaloy is right when its cold it is trying to protect the transmission,and anytime u let your truck idle,always put it in nutral and set p brake, and that lets the transmission circulate and keeps it cool.

If you let it idle in 1st it will warm up the trans.
