Does anyone know if you can get cold fronts like the one the big trucks use the kind with the zipper in the center I found the stainless steel one but I dont really like the way they look.

Thanks,

Jonathan

You can get them. I think JC Whitney has something like that. Havent seen the ones with the zipper for our trucks yet. May want to get a pyrometer if you run one to make sure the exhaust doesn't to hot. I know they recommend one if used on a big truck from the reduced airflow through the coolers and under the hood.

Check out the winter fronts in the TDR classified section - Product Promotions. Made by Eric in Salt Lake. I've got them on my truck.

A local shop makes them, but I really think the snaps in the summer are tacky. Kinda like the snap top tonneau that you cannot resnap in the winter.

Go with a set of Eric's blocks. If you have the need, one or two of the four grill blocks come off very quick.

JohnE,

If there are snaps, too bad they don't make a black screen to use in warmer parts of the year. For me that would be perfect winter/summer front.

JDinterman, go to www.CABELAS.COM and look around. I have one of there winter/summer fronts and like it well enough. It has two velcro flaps that can opened to allow some air to pass or closed for no air. During the summer, you can remove the cover and snap on a screen to help eliminate bugs from filling the condensor and auto trans cooler. When I run thru a cloud of bugs, I stop in a car wash and pressure wash the dried bugs off the screen. Works well for me!

Ditto what Rich said. Eric's cold front has 4 pieces (one for each open section of the grill). It is not cold enough for all 4 pieces, just put 2 on. They are very easy to take on and off. KL

The front I bought from the dealer has a zippered front. It does work good and helps keep the salt from the front of the engine a bit. The only two things I don't care about it are: 1) Not the easiest thing to install when it's cold out, 2) Definately have to have the paint and cover clean or you'll get fine scratches from the wind buffing the cold front.
