Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) cold idle problem

I have a friend with a 97 12V and has a problem with the truck idling when cold. After it warms up everything is fine. Any ideas what will cause this. I have the electronic pump and also one with an old VE so no experience with the P 7100. Thanks for any help.

Can you describe the problem any more? Just calling it a "problem" is kind of vague... .

Sorry, I neglected to say the engine stalls when it is put into gear as it idles really low. Other than that I'll have to ask my friend what else it does. It is like a fuel enrichment adjustment is not kicking in. Thanks.

check the IDLE with something other than the factory tach. It is supposed to be between 750 and 800 with the A/C on and the transmission in gear.



I had the same problem. So I adjusted the Idle to 800 in gear with the A/C on and it fixed the problem.
